One Fine Day

It has been one fine day.

Breakfast with Mere up southfork on kayaks...yep doesn't get any better than that.

BTW it is creeping closer and closer.

Whew let's sidestep the issue with some great pics:

oh i just love pretties.

seriously I was thinking do I like kayaking because my mom like kayaking or do I like kayaking because I like it?

I can to this conclusion: I like kayaking because of the beauty you get to see while you kayaking. Also there is something about being in the middle of a calm lake and thinking or chatting. And there is nothing like propelling yourself by pushing back water at a rhythmic pace.

SO THINK ABOUT IT: Why do you like the things you do?

much love and happy thinking,

Thank You Mr. President

SO my friend MERE and I went on the greatest walk yesterday.

We walked up skyline drive and then headed on a trail which wound around the golf course.

Believe it or not Cody is BEAUTIFUL!

During out talk we, like the girls we are, discussed baby names. I don't know what it is with girls but we talk about stuff like this. Please just accept us as we are. Thank you.

Anywho. I decided that old presidents would make the cutest first names.

Girls:

Monroe.Madison.Lincoln.McKinley.Kennedy.Taft.Clinton.Reagan

Boys:

Jefferson.Jackson.Harrison.Taft.Harding.Truman.Ford.Pierce

Ones that might now work so well (nothing against the presidents):

Obama.Bush.Roosevelt.Coolidge.Eisenhower.Garfield.Buchanan.Polk

It might do you good one day...plus who can resist history.

Yellowstone is My Backyard

Yes this is a blessing.

So last Friday my mom and I decided to take advantage of our wonderful blessing:

We loaded up the kayaks.

And went to Yellowstone Lake (yes the one that's bottom is bulging and could explode destroying all of us...FUN)

Hopped in the kayaks

And started paddling:

We saw some pretty cool things:

We stopped in at a cave: (somehow I managed to get out of the kayak ah!)

And I went inside: OOOOOH!

The most exciting were the steam geysers:

The water was so clear and calm that we could see dormant geysers in the bottom on the lake blowing bubbles to the surface!

After Kayaking we went to Canyons for a hike:

And saw the upper falls:

And on the way back a tree shaped in the letter Y CRAZY!:

And then headed to Artist Point:

Of course you can't go to Yellowstone without seeing a bit of wildlife.

Look close:

Yep a black bear ran out in the road in front of our car, jumping in the water and began swimming.

And yes buffalo crossing (not odd to get stuck in the middle of a buffalo herd):

And we ended the day with a beautiful sunset (it was actually a red):

I am SO thankful for nature and that we have Yellowstone SO close.

I am also grateful for a mom who LOVES kayaking...she is SO great:

Growing up my mom always taught me to look for beautiful things. She showed me sunsets, the moon, the stars, owls, deer, wild flowers, the garden, Yellowstone, huckleberries, and so much MORE.

SO THANKS MOM for always teaching me to appreciate nature's beauty.

much love,

Be Still and Know that I am God

YES! Saturday!

What an AMAZING morning right?

For those of you who have not idea what I am talking about...that's OK!

Today is the beginning of a marvelous General Conference!

Twice a year The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints broadcasts worldwide, live messages from our church leaders for a Saturday and a Sunday. There are five two hour sessions. And believe it or not the messages are not JUST for Mormons. They are for anyone who would like to hear messages about family, charity, service, love, gratitude, and most of all the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Nephi 25:26

And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

This might be my FAVORITE time of year. I just love to hear from our leaders. It is a most refreshing time of year where I can stop everything else I am doing and LISTEN. Listen to messages which uplift me and help become a better person.

So if you want to participate...PLEASE DO!

You can view General Conference on BYUTV (channel 24 if you are where I am), online, on the radio or go to an LDS church. Or if you can't catch it now...read the talks later.

YEAH FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

much love,

What Have I Got Myself Into?

So I just started the month of October by waking up at 5:15 am.

WHY?

Answer: My dad convinced me to join a fitness class at our local Rec Center>

Result: Waking up at 5:15 am this morning, having to do lots of push ups (I stink at push ups), and yes a load of endorphins. Tomorrow's result just might be LOTS of pain.

OK do not be alarmed; I do not have to wake up this early every morning. Our usual class begins at 6:30 am...much better right?

So for the entire month of October save every Sunday and Thursday I will be doing Cross-Fit with my daddy.

I will let you know if the torture is worth it.

much love,

b.
